2010 Plane Turning Right Adelaide Hills Merlot Cabernet Petit Verdot

Philosophy:
What the hell is a ‘Barossa Boy’ like myself doing, mucking around with fruit from the Adelaide Hills...??? Well to tell the truth; I’m not really sure myself. It started with Pinot Noir... and well I guess my enthusiasm just got the better of me- AS IT ALWAYS DOES!!! During the vintage of 2010, Phil (Broderick) using his nefarious powers of persuasion offered and then somehow managed to convince me to take a bit of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot... Just to have a look of course!

Production:
Single vineyard wine. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot sourced entirely from Phil and Mary Broderick’s Blockers Road Vineyard in Basket Range Adelaide Hills Total production 1560 bottles, 1100 released

Colour:
Vermilion lips promises of kisses to follow

Nose:
Initially the waft of an exotic well coiffed lady of mystery seductively catches the edge of your nose before her jealous beau dressed in tweed looms out of the bramble patch carefully packing a cherry wood pipe with three nuns Tobacco giving a warning glance...

Palate:
The stick is pushed forward and a heady dive into a whirlpool of gauzy silken scarves, coy glances and promises of heaven while the steady Rhumba of a well rounded dancer leads you ever further from the safety of your friends. You turn to look back but the purple haze obscures your vision and cherry wood sticks softly tap on your thighs; warnings of discipline to come... Before the night draws to a close

Purchase:
