These Wines are ULTRA small production and their existince is opportunity - whimsy - execution ... and of course end result coming together in the best possible way
The 2009 Howling Dogue Grenache Shiraz is 'voila' of my ongoing quest to make seriously INTENSE Barossa Grenache. To keep the wine savory and give it presence I've taken to using Shiraz as a well placed and essential MARITAL AID! While I shall not reveal the exact manner of insertion (one must maintain some of the mystery; after all) the coming together of Barossa Grenache and Barossa Shiraz in their full open throat HOWL of Peak Ripeness is a mouth full of 'holy shit' that will leave you wishing I'd bottled the Dogue in Magnums instead! The Dogue is my version of bottled 'hot sweaty nights of summer passion that have no regrets' other than running out of course. So in the immortal words of Ben Radford, Mad Bastard extraordinaire..."GET A BLACK DOGUE UP YA..."
Now, that is my sort of Recomendation!

Colour:
Rich brick red over a dark core
Nose:
sexy rich red currants and boysonberries, heady lifted black boy rose, spices and caramalised fennel seeds stuck to crackling
Palate:
Big opulent berries under redolently lifted spicy feminine perfume. A rich pouty, velvety mouth feel and long lingering sensual palate. The tannins furmly but gently dry the mouth to a heroin thirst for another mad gulp. A big gutsy mouth full that should age beautifully... assuming it doesnt all go down the cherry lane on the day it arrives.
